EKONID Human Capital Club Explores Key Workforce and Engagement Trends for 2025

Training Indonesia | 25 July 2025

On July 25, 2025, The German-Indonesian Chamber of Industry and Commerce (AHK Indonesia/EKONID) hosted its latest Human Capital Club under the theme “Workforce Trends and Employee Engagement 2025”, bringing together HR professionals from various industries to discuss how Indonesian organizations can build resilient, future-ready talent. The event was held at EKONID’s Jakarta office, in collaboration with Training Indonesia and Mercer Indonesia.

Keynote presentations were delivered by Isdar Andre MarwanCountry leader Mercer Indonesia and Anung Anindita, Consulting Director of Mercer Indonesia. Their insights were based on Mercer’s latest Employee Engagement Indonesia Insights 2025 and Global Talent Trends reports.

Opening the event, Jan Roennfeld, Executive Director of EKONID, stated:

“Through Human Capital Club, EKONID provides a collaborative platform for HR leaders to anticipate and respond to transformative workforce trends. Understanding employee engagement data enables us to design not just agile, but also people-centered strategies.”

Isdar Andre Marwan shared:

Indonesia’s employee engagement score reached 82% in 2025—surpassing both ASEAN and global averages. While this is encouraging, only 67% of employees feel they understand their career paths. This highlights the importance of clear communication and career transparency to retain top talent.

Anung Anindita added:

“The top HR priority in Indonesia this year is developing people managers’ capabilities, redesigning talent processes around skills, and adapting to a redefined world of work. Organizations that are bold in embracing AI, equity, and agility will be better equipped for the future of work.”

The discussions also highlighted the need to build human-centric digital transformation, improve total rewards and compensation fairness, and integrate sustainability into workforce strategies.

EKONID extends its deepest gratitude to all participants and stakeholders for making this session a success. We look forward to continuing the conversation and welcoming you at a future Human Capital Club event.
